Can Your Mind Be A Den for Darkness?

Hey guys!  I know, I know, it's been a hell lot of time since I last posted a blog. If you don't know yet, I had moved to another country for studies, and boy, life had become so busy that I did not even have time for a writer's block!

But I have returned home for a few days and I guess I can put my creative hat on (non -existent I guess). So, as always, I had a lot of topics on my mind that I wanted to write on but they all seemed silly in my mind and so I ended up taking suggestions from you all, AGAIN! I know right, how pathetic can a man get?!

Anyway, a sweet, close friend of mine recently suggested a topic that I did want to write about and may have crossed paths in my other blogs, but haven't yet touched the point properly. So, today I would like to talk to you about a very complicated, complex yet fragile little thing, our mind.
I might have been too obvious while writing the title for this blog but yeah, each one of you, including myself, has a dark side to us, also a good one. Even the nicest person in your life is carrying darkness well hidden inside them, waiting to be triggered. And so does the rudest person of the vilest nature carry goodness inside of him, hidden or buried deep inside, by the society, people, or maybe even by himself.

The darkness comes out when they are triggered by certain events. I can either take a single event or a continuous process of triggering which may lead to their dominance in a person's mind. But the good can only come out with sheer will power, or by the help of someone or something. Letting your darkness win is a very easy task, but holding on to your goodness is what makes you strong, and brave.
Now, it is very easy to hate people who have let their darkness dominate their minds, but maybe for a second, put yourself in their shoes, try to empathize and ponder on what they may have had to go through in their life. Maybe they have had a bad experience with their family, a bad childhood, or maybe some other experiences. Or maybe they got trapped by their own mind into falling into darkness by not getting any help since apparently getting help for mental health is such a taboo.

Now, this does not only affect the person you are imposing your darkness on but also affects you and the entire society as a whole. It takes you to a level where you will no longer even be open up to your friends. So it will become impossible to reign the darkness back in. So, you will have to take control of your mind and not let it control you.

Now, there is a proverb that I keep telling everyone and I will say this to you too:

"An idle brain is the devil’s workshop."

Yes, it is absolutely correct. And that is why I will always tell you that the best way to keep your mind in your control is to keep yourself busy! No matter what you're doing! (As long as it is legal)
Just make sure that you do not allow your mind to dwell on thoughts a lot because as we all know, minds are stupidly smart little things and they can manipulate your thoughts and actions with ease. Don't give them the time or permission to do that. But don't tire yourself out either, find a balance and take enough breaks, give yourself space and time from others but socialize too! I hope you get what I mean.

Also, before I go,  I just want to say that even if you're seeing someone go through their tough times, try and get them help, because maybe your smile is the ray of sunshine waiting to snuff out their darkness. It is very important in our lives to remember that everyone has their own story which has made them the way they are. We are humans, and the least we can do is to help our own kind.

Just take care of yourself, and maybe try and take care of others whenever you can, you will find an entirely new meaning to your life. Bye for now :)
