Everyone wants to be taken seriously when they say stuff, or put forward opinions and express themselves rather than be made fun of. Well, I'm here to tell you how to feel and look confident anywhere and everywhere you go!
I have noticed a lot of people with so much insecurities and fear of being wrong or not being taken seriously at certain circumstances which make them feel vulnerable, or even weak at times. Hell, even I used to be one of those people. But I found out a few tricks to change that and I am more than pleased to share those few simple tips with you all!
Before I start, I just wanna tell you guys that even after taking in all these tips, you will face a bit of trouble in the start, but you'll get a hang of it as soon as you start following these simple rules daily and with every conversation that you have, no matter if it's an important one or not, formal or informal. You just have to do these simple things that will bring a lot of changes in the way you present yourself.
So, here we go:
1. Make A Good Entrance
As you all have heard,
To be honest, I always thought that this was just a faux, but to my surprise, it was anything but that. I would like to quote a few statements by Business Insider
By presenting yourself properly, I don't mean that you go buy expensive suits and dresses just to look classy. You can look classy with just a T-Shirt and a pair of jeans. It's not about what you wear. It is about how you wear it and how you carry yourself.
Whenever you enter a room, or walk on the streets, or go anywhere, take long strides instead of short steps. Keep your head high and look straight where you are going. If you do this, people will actually feel the confidence radiating out of you.
This not only includes your walking style, but you should also pay attention to your facial expressions. A simple smile should always be playing on your lips. It will portray you as an approachable person, which will always come handy in a lot of situations.
Whenever you speak with anyone, even if you're not confident enough, don't show it to the opposite party! If you look anything less than confident, it will create a lack of trust or belief in what you're saying to the person who you're communicating with. What I do to avoid this is to maintain my facial features whenever I speak with people.
Always express with your facial features and hands, but not too much. This creates a feeling of trust and the opposite party will feel that whatever you're saying is true and if you are confident about your own words, the others will follow suit for sure!
This trick always works if you work it up properly. The best part is, even if you're in a discussion or in a debate, the lack of confidence of the opposite party will come to your use. Even if you don't know about something but still want to convince the person and prove your point just to win the discussion/ debate, just use your "confidence mask" and tell your part, no matter what, they will be forced to believe you even if what you just said was slightly absurd.
But don't expect this trick to work if you say something utterly idiotic like "You can find leprechauns at the end of a rainbow" or you'll lose all the grip you had in the debate itself.
3. Always Be A Gentleman/ Lady.
This is one of the most important factor which plays a vital role in how people perceive your character and your personality. Whenever you meet a person, greet them with a simple smile and offer them a firm handshake.
Now, when I say "firm" handshake, I don't mean you squeeze the other person's hand to a juice. I just mean, you have to have a firm grip on the other person's hand during the handshake. A good firm handshake is always the symbol of a gentleman/ lady.
Whenever you talk with a single person, make sure you look into the eye of the person while speaking to him/ her.
Also, try physical contact with the person by placing a hand on their shoulder while speaking to them. (Beware: If they are uncomfortable with your touch, be sure to remove it ASAP)

As you all have heard,
"First impression is the last impression"
To be honest, I always thought that this was just a faux, but to my surprise, it was anything but that. I would like to quote a few statements by Business Insider
"Within moments of meeting you, people decide all sorts of things about you, from status to intelligence to conscientiousness.
Career experts say it takes just three seconds for someone to determine whether they like you and want to do business with you."This explains to you, the importance of a first impression, although, you can mend your impression with time, but what if its a one time chance to present yourself? I'm sure you wouldn't wanna mess that up.

2. Never look uncertain or doubtful of your own self!

Conclusion:
If you follow these simple tips and tricks while interacting with others, I bet you'll find changes and people will start taking you very seriously and your words and opinions will be respected by anyone you have a good impression on.
But that doesn't mean you should never be funny. A sense of humor is always a cherry on top of the cake.
